About Ramadan
Ramadan is the ninth month of the Islamic (Hijri) calendar and one of the most sacred times for Muslims worldwide. It officially begins when the month of Shaban, the eighth month of the Islamic calendar, ends.
Ramadan 2025
This year, the holy month of Ramadan is expected to begin on Friday, February 28, or Saturday, March 1, 2025. The exact timing is based on the sighting of the moon.
Significance of Ramadan
Ramadan is a time of spiritual reflection, increased charity and generosity, and intense devotion and worship. Muslims believe it was during this month that the first verses of the Holy Quran were revealed to Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him).
Fasting During Ramadan
During Ramadan, Muslims fast from dawn until sunset, abstaining from food, drink, and other physical needs. The fast is broken each evening with a meal called Iftar, and before dawn, Muslims observe a pre-fast meal called Suhoor.
